Menstrual Phase Wisdom: Don’t Ignore the Release and How to Socialize Without Losing Yourself 💘

Updated: Jun 14

Last night, I was on the phone with another Powerful Creator, we were both about to start our period. Feeling tired, emotional, and just not ourselves.

We started talking about what happens when we don’t release.

When we don’t honor the phase, we’re in. When we try to just push through it.

And that conversation hit deep.

Because that’s exactly what so many of us do.

We live in a world that glorifies hustle.

That teaches us to override our bodies. To keep showing up. Keep doing. Keep performing.

But what happens when we don’t slow down?

What happens when we don’t pause and listen?

We get stuffed.

Literally.

Stuffed with energy. With emotion. With frustration.

With pain we never gave ourselves time to feel, much less release.

And then we start reaching for the old patterns.

Comfort eating. Scrolling. Smoking. Drinking. Being in places we don’t even want to be in, just to distract ourselves from what’s really rising.

And that’s dangerous.

Because when we’re not honoring ourselves, we start unconsciously creating from a place of survival, not truth.

And that’s when chaos shows up.

We’re still creating but now we’re doing it from ego.

From autopilot.

From pain.

Then it spills over. Into our relationships. Our money. Our energy.

We start saying yes to things we don’t want. Making decisions that don’t serve. Playing roles that don’t fit anymore.

So, this is your reminder.

Especially if you’re bleeding right now.

Especially if your body is speaking to you:

Slow down.

Tune in.

Let it all come up.

Give yourself what you actually need.

Make space.

Feel what’s under the surface.

Let yourself be held.

And if you do want to connect this weekend but still want to honor your cycle, here’s some ideas to hold both:

🌙 Menstrual Phase-Friendly Social Activities

  1. Movie + Tea + Chill Night

Invite one or two people who feel safe to your nervous system. Bring the cozy blankets. Brew some herbal tea. Roll a joint if that’s your vibe. Make some nourishing snacks. Watch a feel-good movie. No pressure to be deep—just soft laughter, banter, and vibes.

  2. Creative Expression Circle

Get together and paint, journal, make a vision board—anything that lets you express and be present. It’s not about making something perfect. It’s about creating something that feels good, and being with others who get it.

  3. Slow Walk + Talk

Pick a beautiful trail. Walk slow. Breathe deep. Talk about whatever’s on your heart—or nothing at all. Grab a drink (tea, coffee, coconut water), and let yourself just be in the world. Open up gently. Let nature hold you.

  4. Sound Bath or Meditation Together

Sign up for an in-person class, stream a session on YouTube, or host one yourself. Lay down, breathe, and let the sounds or stillness soothe your nervous system. Heal together. No effort. Just presence.

  5. Rest + Release Gathering

Soft clothes only. Everyone brings one thing they’re ready to let go of—an emotion, a story, a weight they’ve been carrying. Share it. Release it. Then rest. Let it be sacred. Let it be simple.

  6. Cook Something That Honors Your Cycle

Pick a recipe that feels nourishing. Cook with intention. Let your body guide what she needs—warm soups, root veggies, iron-rich dishes. Light a candle, play music, and enjoy the ritual of it.

  7. Create Your Own Flow

This is your phase. Your body. Your needs. Ask her what she wants, and trust it. Whether it’s a solo dance session, a long bath, or saying no to everything and laying in bed all day—make it yours.

Remember who you are 👑

Before you say yes to any plans—pause and create!

Ask yourself:

  • What do I want?

  • How do I want to feel?

  • What kind of experience would nourish me right now?

  • What kind of conversations do I desire?

Visualize it. Feel it. Get excited about it.

Then reach out to someone who’s aligned and let it unfold. ✨

You’re not missing out.

You’re honoring yourself.

You’re creating with intention.

I love you.

With love & power,

Amber Breanna 👑
