Rich Dad, Poor Dad Chapter 7: Work to Learn, Don't Work for Money | Powerful Creator Mastermind w/ Amber Breanna

Updated: Jul 25

Most people are trained to work for money. But what if the key to freedom is training yourself to learn instead?

In this chapter, Kiyosaki reminds us of a radical truth that many overlook: the rich don’t work for money — they work to learn. And for us as Powerful Creators, that shift in mindset is everything.

This isn’t just a quote from a book. It’s a lifestyle. A principle. A spiritual and practical code to live by.

Looking back, I can see that every chapter of my journey — from network marketing to trading Forex, from learning digital marketing to being a leader and an apprentice — has been a classroom. Whether I was working at a hospital or building my brand, I wasn’t just clocking in… I was collecting tools, skills, and lessons that are now part of my financial, emotional, and spiritual foundation.

What I love most about this chapter is that it validates something we’ve known in our bones: our skillset is our superpower — and the willingness to grow, evolve, and learn new ones is the most valuable currency we have.

This isn’t about doing what’s comfortable. It’s about doing what’s necessary — especially learning how to sell, market, communicate, and lead. Because if we want to create wealth, we need to get good at the real-world skills that produce it.

Let’s get into it. 💼✨

💡 3 Powerful Takeaways from the Conversation

1. Sales & Marketing Are Non-Negotiable Life Skills

One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation was this simple truth: you must learn how to sell. It doesn’t matter what your product is, what your gift is, or what industry you’re in — sales and marketing are the bridges between your value and the world receiving it.

Even if you’re not a business owner or influencer, learning to sell and market yourself is essential. We’re always in a state of exchange — whether we’re pitching an idea, sharing our story, asking for help, or launching something new. To be successful, we have to learn how to communicate our value clearly, consistently, and creatively.

One of my mentors said it best:

“Marketing is just saying the same thing over and over again in a hundred different ways.”

That stuck with me — because once you’re clear on your message, the work becomes about practicing how to communicate that message in different ways that land.

This is a skill we can grow. Whether it’s through courses, mentorship, speaking, network marketing, or content creation — the invitation is to get uncomfortable, get curious, and commit to learning how to communicate your value.

 2. Learn by Osmosis — Then Build the System

Another major takeaway from this lesson is that you don’t need to know everything — but you do need to know a little about a lot. Robert Kiyosaki calls this learning through osmosis. It’s the idea that the more you expose yourself to different areas of business and money — like investing, sales, management, and law — the more you absorb and integrate that knowledge into how you operate.

Why does that matter?

Because once you know just enough about how things work, you can start building systems. And systems are what free you.

“The most important management skills needed for success,” he writes, “are the management of cash flow, the management of systems, and the management of people.”

This is a skill we must prioritize: learning how to build repeatable, automated, and supportive systems — for our money, our business, our schedule, even our personal growth.

In today’s world, one of the most powerful ways to do this is by using tools like ChatGPT as your operating system. Whether you’re using it to streamline your business, plan your week, map out offers, or organize your ideas — learning how to turn your process into a system is next-level wealth.

S.Y.S.T.E.M. = Save Yourself Time, Energy, and Money.

That’s what systems do — and it’s a skill set worth mastering.

3. The Rich Know This Law: Give and You Shall Receive

In the final paragraph of the chapter, Kiyosaki drops one of the most powerful truths — a truth that we, as Powerful Creators, live by:

“My rich dad gave money away. He gave to his church, to charities, and to his foundation. He knew the most important law of money: ‘Give and you shall receive.’”

This is the principle. This is the law. This is what we build on.

We are not chasing money just to have it. We’re cultivating wealth so we can give, create, bless, and pour. We’re aligning with the universal law of sowing and reaping — and that law says: whatever you give, you will always receive back tenfold.

And let’s be real — giving can feel risky when you’re still building, when you’re healing from lack, or when you’re breaking generational survival patterns. But giving is exactly how we rewire the belief that there’s not enough. It’s how we train our nervous system to trust abundance.

This is why true wealth begins on the inside. The rich give, not because they “have extra,” but because they understand the law. They don’t wait to feel secure — they give to become secure.

And so do we.

🔥 3 Specific Action Steps to Apply Now

  1. Train Your Sales & Marketing Muscles

Start by asking yourself: How clearly can I communicate what I do and why it matters?

Then practice. Pick one offer, one story, or one message — and challenge yourself to communicate it in five different ways this week. That could look like:

    • Writing a post

    • Creating a voice memo

    • Telling a friend

    • Filming a short video

    • Turning it into a teaching point

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s repetition with intention.Sales and marketing are learned skills, not personality traits. So the more you practice, the more natural it becomes. And the better you get at communicating your value, the more value will flow back to you. 💰🗣️

  2. Start Building Systems That Support You

This week, take one area of your life or business that feels chaotic or time-consuming — and ask: “What system could I create to save myself time, energy, or money?”

Then use a tool like ChatGPT to help you build it.

    That might look like:

    • Creating a workflow for how you post content

    • Building a weekly schedule template

    • Designing a simple money-check-in ritual

    • Outlining how you onboard clients or track community engagement

Remember: systems don’t have to be perfect — they just need to support your energy and give you structure to build on. As Kiyosaki says, managing systems is one of the core skills of wealth — so we practice now, even in the small things.

Start where you are. Let it be simple. Then let it grow.

  1. Practice Generosity From a Place of Power

This week, choose one intentional way to give — not from obligation or guilt, but from alignment with the law of abundance.

    It could be:

    • Tithing to your spiritual home or a cause you love

    • Sending money to someone in need

    • Buying someone a meal

    • Gifting a service, prayer, or skill

    • Donating to a community fund or member

Then speak this aloud (or write it down) :“I give with faith. I am in alignment with abundance. I always receive tenfold.”

This isn’t just about being “nice” — it’s about activating the law. When we give from a powerful place, we train our minds and bodies to know: we are not lacking — we are sowing. 🌱💸

💖 Personal Note from Amber Breanna

Take your time, Powerful Creator.

There’s no rush, and you’re not on anyone’s timeline but your own. I know it’s a lot — we’re absorbing new information, unlearning old ways, and doing the real work to build something solid. But this is what it takes.

Brick by brick. Layer by layer.

We’re creating a foundation that no one can take from us — because this isn’t just about money. This is about mindset, wisdom, and freedom.

And yes, it may feel like you’re doing a hundred things, and nothing is moving fast enough. But trust me: it’s all adding up. Every study session, every financial practice, every call you show up to — it’s building something inside you. Something unshakable.

So have grace on yourself.

Be proud of the work you’re doing.

And remember — we’re not just building wealth.

We’re becoming leaders.

Let’s keep going. Let’s keep building. 💼🔥

With love & power,

Amber Breanna ❤️
